Spring Clean Your Nervous System Part 2: Why Rest is Productive
Aug 21, 2025
In our culture, “rest” often gets a bad reputation. It can be seen as lazy, indulgent, or unproductive (and we are usually our own worse critics here!). But your nervous system tells a different story.
✨ Rest is when your body repairs, recharges, and reorganises itself. It’s the quiet season that makes the energy requirement all other seasons possible.
When we skip rest, we end up drained and dysregulated. But when we allow it, our creativity, focus, and energy return with more strength.
🌱 Just like the earth needs winter before spring, your nervous system needs pause before renewal.
💡 Reflection prompt: What does nourishing rest look like for you? Not just sleep, but the kind of pause that restores your nervous system?
